Guerilla Salsa Social,,A Night to Remember!!

The Monthly Guerilla Salsa Social at Sandunga Dance Studio Saturday Aug.6th had an amazing turnout. The night was off to a groovy start with DJ Al Rivera opening up the night. For those of you who haven't met Al,he is a Marine who just moved to Dallas after being stationed in Japan the last 6 years. He and his wife have been dancing for many years and have traveled to many countries through Salsa. He has been collecting music for many years and brings a fresh twist on the heavy tunes Guerilla Salseros are eager for.
Luis X. Herrador from Dance Mania Studio in Hurst,Tx was the guest instructor of the night. He had a packed class of Salseros hungry to learn some new moves. Class ran about 45 minutes and I'm sure could have lasted another 45 min but people were piling in ready to dance, lol.
Nkla-V Dance Crew from Dallas gave us an exciting performance by some very talented teens. The Crew is led by Geo & Elizabeth Leiva,Veteran Dancers of the Dallas Salsa scene.Nkla-v has performed at the Capital City Salsa Festival and Orlando Salsa Congress so be on the look out for them at the next event near you.
It was wonderful seeing so many new faces Saturday night,It was also great to see so much of Dallas unite for a night of Social Dancing.De Lara Dance,Jay Stylz,Marcus Negron,Mambo Dallas, and dancers from all over the metroplex were in attendance. It was a night of incredible dancing and energy. This was one of the most packed Guerilla Salsa Socials we've had.Shout out to our special friends who drove in from Oklahoma to attend.
I began my set around 12:45 am,I went through a few jazzy numbers, some mambo, some salsa,a few bachatas, enjoying a journey lost in SALSA for a few hours. We ended up shutting down at 3:30 am,Ok THIS is my LAST Song,,,,Hehe
Stay tuned for details of the next Guerilla Salsa Social in September.Vaya Salsero!!!!----DJ Colombiano
